SouthSide Economic and Community Development Corporation (SECDC) is a Texas Faith-based Corporation. It is a collaborative outgrowth of Smith Chapel AME Church of Dallas, Texas.
SECDC brings together public and private sector initiatives and those of the faith-based community and the effort to improve the quality of life of those who are: disenfranchised, disadvantaged, poor and poverty stricken, lost and without hope, underserved, disliked and discriminated against, taken advantage of and put down, those with substance abuse problems, troubled youth and youth at risk, those with health problems, the elderly, the unemployed, potential home buyers, those desiring to start-up businesses, those needing technical assistance and training and those wanting to continue their education.
SECDC primary purpose is to empower people economically and socially that live in urban communities, empowerment zones, enterprise zones, enterprise communities, underserved communities, and any special targeted areas identified by the federal government to be economical and socially depressed.
